Qualified Senior (Chemistry, Imperial)

There were three things I was looking for in a graduate job: working in a friendly environment; doing work that I found stimulating; and the ability to study for a professional qualification. Having spent a summer working in a growing firm in the West End – and seeing how business could be conducted on such a personal level – I also knew I wanted to work for a small firm.

When I joined Rees Pollock, the first thing I noticed was the strong sense of community spirit. Everyone, no matter what their level, bent over backwards to help me during my first few months.

I’ve found working for a smaller firm allows you to be far more involved in all areas of an audit. This makes understanding new concepts far easier as I have been able to gain first-hand experience.

I’ve also had the opportunity to spend time working with both the tax and management accounts departments, which has broadened my knowledge base. I’ve been lucky to work on clients of all sizes in a variety of sectors, which really has given me a rounded view of the needs of different businesses.
